Shajarian to raise funds for renovation of tomb of Shams in Khoy

TEHRAN -- Shajarian and his band, Shahnaz, are scheduled to give a benefit concert in Tehran to raise funds for the renovation of the tomb of Shams-e Tabrizi in Khoy, West Azarbaijan Province.
The performances will take place at Tehran’s National Grand Hall on June 18, 19, 21, and 22.
Born in the city of Tabriz, Shams lived together with Rumi in Konya for several years and distilled in him the mystical passion which Rumi into a great Sufi poet. Shams was immortalized in Rumi’s collection of poetry entitled the Divan of Shams-e Tabrizi.
Bulgaria to hold seminar on Imam Khomeini’s thought
TERHAN -- A seminar on Imam Khomeini’s thought will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria on June 3, marking the 19th departure anniversary of Imam Khomeini.
A number of scientific and cultural figures from Iran and Bulgaria will take part in the seminar scheduled to be held at the Rodina Hotel in Sofia.
Several articles on the Imam Khomeini’s thought and character will be presented at the seminar..
