TEHRAN -- The U.S.-based Iranian scholar Mohammadreza Ghanoonparvar has recently completed the translation of Bahram Beizaii’s play “Memories of the Minor Actor” into English and it will be published in a near future in the United States.

Ghanoonparvar is the professor of Persian and comparative literature at the University of Texas.
The Persian version of the play was published in Iran in 1981 and Beizaii’s troupe performed it at Tehran’s Sangalaj Theater in 2003.
Beizaii, 70, is one of the true professionals in Iranian dramatic arts, and his outstanding command of the Persian language and narration has earned him recognition as one of the country’s best playwrights.
He has also written and directed acclaimed films including “Killing Rabid Dogs”, “Travelers”, “Downpour”, and “Bashu, the Little Stranger”.
