TEHRAN -- “Kites know no Chastity”, a short film by the junior Iranian director Hushmand Varaei received an award at the Open Saint Petersburg Student Film Festival that was held from September 25 to October 1.

The film was awarded an honorary diploma in Short Film Section of the gala.
Having a postmodern setting, the film concerns the notion of disloyalty in human society. He uses long sequences and some choreographic techniques in film’s Mise en scènes.
He participated as a member of the Tehran Sureh Higher Education Institute at the festival.
The film was screened previously in several international events including Denmark’s International Odense Film Festival, Australia Experimental Film Festival and also was accepted at the India’s Third eye Asian film festival.
