Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira has revealed he could retire from football at the end of the current season.
Vieira will turn 35 this summer and after struggling to make an impact at Eastlands he could decide to call time on a glittering career. The World Cup and European Championship winner, who was also part of a hugely successful Arsenal side which won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups, has started just two league games this term and has been used to a greater extend in the Europa League as Roberto Mancini shuffles his pack.
""There's a 50% chance I'll stop playing,"" Vieira was quoted as saying by the Sunday Mirror. ""Doing it in June wouldn't bother me - it would be an easy decision.
""I accept the fact that the end is soon, because I'm in tune with reality. I've fabulous memories, but that was before - it's now a different period because I live in the present.""
