Sepahan thrashes Al Jazira in AFC Champions League

ISFAHAN - Iran’s Sepahan defeated the UAE’s Al Jazira in an AFC Champions League group stage match in Isfahan on Tuesday.
In the match, which was held at the Fooladshahr Stadium, coach Amir Ghalenoei’s team defeated Al Jazira 5-1.The two teams observed a minute of silence for the victims of Japan's catastrophic earthquake and tsunami before the game began.
Ahmad Jamshidian bagged a brace as the first half ended 2-0 for Sepahan.
Al Jazira’s Jader Volnei Bare reduced the deficit eight minutes into the second half, but goals by Ibrahim Tore, Milorad Janjus, and Javad Kazemian sealed the win for Sepahan.
Sepahan had defeated Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia 2-1 in its opening match.
The Isfahan-based team is scheduled to play Al Garrafa of Qatar on April 5.
Iran’s Persepolis plays Al Wahda of the UAE and Iran’s Zob Ahan plays Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia in other AFC Champions League matches on Wednesday.
