TEHRAN - The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday said the Turkish prime minister's unauthorized entry into the Syrian soil under the excuse of visiting the tomb of an ancient king is a “dangerous” act.

The ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham stressed the need to respect the territorial sovereignty of all countries.

Afkham said Iran believed that the move by Ahmet Davutoglu could further complicate regional situations.

She stated that some countries suffer from miscalculations about regional circumstances and developments.

Afkham underscored the need to avoid provocative moves and said respecting international regulations as well as countries’ sovereignty is a well-established norm which needs to be observed by all countries.
