Iranian movies win awards at L.A. Love Intl. Film Festival

TEHRAN – Iranian movies have won several awards at the Love International Film Festival in Los Angeles, the organizers announced on Wednesday.
“The Rainy Love” by Mahdieh Shirin Qaredaqi won the award for best short foreign film, while the award for best screenplay was given to Afhsin Hashemi for “Temporary License”.
Maral Farjad also won the award for best supporting actress for her role in “Immortality” by Mehdi Fardqaderi.
The best actress award was presented to Indian Dipannita Sharma for her role in “Rainbow Fields” by Bidyut Kotoky.
“Rainbow Fields” co-produced by Trilok Malhotra, K.R. Harish also was named best feature film.
Gregory Sporleder form America was selected as best actor for his role in “In the Wake of Ire” by Brian Maurer.
The award for best director went to Gorune Aprikian from France for “Just a Fling”.
“World Peace” by German filmmaker Holger Klussmann was picked as best feature documentary, while “The Ascending Age Short 6” by Nilufar Shaterian from the U.S. won the award for best short documentary.
The festival was held in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles in April.
