LA CORUNA Deportivo Coruna Captain Fran will be out for around six weeks after undergoing knee surgery this week.
The Spanish international midfielder suffered the injury to his right knee during Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
His place in the side is likely to go to Brazilian Djalminha, who is ready to return from a thigh muscle injury.
