TEHRAN Expediency Council (EC) Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani in a meeting with South Korean Ambassador Lee Sang Chul here Wednesday stressed promotion of cooperation between Iranian and South Korean private sectors.

Rafsanjani expressed satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation between Tehran and Seoul in various fields, including economy, ship-building, petrochemical and steel industries.

He welcomed easing of tensions and removal of disputes in the Korean peninsula and described the measures adopted by the two Koreas to gain access to peaceful unity and understanding as important.

Rafsanjani sought concurrence between Iran and South Korea and promotion of friendly ties between the two governments and nations.

Lee Sang Chul, inviting Rafsanjani to pay an official visit to his country, assessed all-out expansion of Tehran-Seoul ties as positive, IRNA reported.
