MANILA Saudi billionaire Osama bin Laden is funding Muslim guerrillas plotting to kill Philippine President Gloria Arroyo, a Manila newspaper reported Saturday. The *** Philippine Star*** quoted an "intelligence report" as saying Bin Laden, hiding in Afghanistan, had given funds to the Abu Sayyaf group to carry out bomb attacks against Arroyo and the U.S. Embassy in Manila. The report did not give further details. Presidential spokesmen could not be immediately reached for comment. The Abu Sayyaf in the southern island of Basilan are the targets of a massive military operation seeking to recover the 19 Filipinos and two Americans they are holding hostage.
