TEHRAN -- Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mostafa Moein arrived in Madrid, Spanish capital city on Saturday for an official visit on the invitation of his Spain counterpart Anna Maria Birules Bertran.

The Iran minister met with Bertran and he will meet two Spanish universities and a genetic research center during his stay in Madrid, IRNA reported.

He will also meet the head of Spain's highest and most important council for research activities.

Spain currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union (EU).
