Executive Operations of National Plan of Livestock and Pastureland Put Into Operation in Gilan

TEHRAN -- For the first time in the country, equivalent level between livestock and pastureland as well as prevention from destroying and carrying out suitable management became operational in pasturelands of Gilan Province. Over one million surplus livestock exist based on low capacity of pastureland areas in the province.

Announcing the above in an interview with Eng.

Hossein-Ali Mostafaloo, the technical deputy of Gilan Province's Department General of Natural Resources said that the plan is underway about Rls.2bn worth of credits. About 160,000 ha of pastureland is going to be prepared into pastureland.

He further noted that surplus livestock exist at limited pastureland of province adding that to this end, Gilan Province's Department General of Natural Resources intends to take drastic measures with its scientific and principal management in cooperation with deputy office of livestock and management of public participation, livestock and poultry logistics companies, head of Natural Resources of Research Center as well as livestock affairs of agricultural Jihad of Gilan in order to alleviate the existing problem.

According to the ratification, required facilities including animal feed, barley, chemical fertilizer, banking facilities and welfare services would be available to owners of pasturelands and stockbreeders. Eng. Farhad Alipour, the director general of Logistics Affairs of Livestock in Gilan said that Gilan Province's Department General of Livestock is being considered as an active member for paving the facilities of national plan of livestock and pastureland including decrease the number of surplus livestock, supplying animal feed, construction of industrial slaughterhouse, etc.
