TOKYO -- National Iranian Gas Co. (NIGC) and Osaka Gas Co. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) here on the safety system of the Iranian gas network.

Iran's Ambassador to Tokyo Ali Majedi told IRNA on Saturday that the MOU was signed between the NIGC Managing Director and Head of Osaka Gas Co., Yushi Kazu Kuyama.

According to the MOU, the two parties will exchange data and expertise on ways of tackling natural disasters, specially earthquakes and will further broaden their technical and scientific cooperation.

Osaka Gas Co. will also continue arranging on-the-job training courses for NIGC employees.

According to IRNA, NIGC employees have so far attended four training courses on gas networks safety systems.
