TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) – Through further cooperation of the Majlis, the bill on revising the election law can be approved without the need to forward it to the Expediency Council (EC), the spokesman for the Guardian Council (GC) Ebrahim Azizi told the Mehr News Agency here on Sunday.
He said that the changes which Majlis deputies have made to the bill have eliminated most of the problems and expressed hope that the rest of the problems could also be solved through the cooperation of the legislative branch of government.
The GC hopes that all the problems of the bill can be solved so that it conforms to the sharia (Islamic law) and the Constitution, Azizi added.
In conclusion, the GC spokesman expressed hope that constructive cooperation with the Majlis would continue so there would be no need to forward the bill to the Expediency Council.
