TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) – For the first time, Qeshm island became the main center for repairing oil platform turbines in the region, as Siemens started repairing Abuzar oilfield’s turbine there.

Siemens will provide Iranian experts with technical know-how, manager of the Siemens center for servicing turbines said here Saturday.

In 2001, Siemens invested 2 million dollars to build the center for repairing different types of turbines.

Experts believe that since the Island is located in the center of the Middle East’s oil path, Iran can turn it into the largest site of logistics and services through the region while saving a large fund. AF/IS/SRM END MNA
