Works of Tehran Museum on Display in Italy
“Painter and His Model” (1926) by Pablo Picasso, “Natural History” by Max Ernest, and “Light in Autumn” by Willem de Kooning are the 3 tableaus on display. Several Italian dailies and TV channels covered the news of the exhibition. Daily “Il Tempo” printed in Rome, in an article wrote, “President of Italy, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, in his visit to the exhibit, expressed his happiness over the presence of such world masterpieces.”
Daily “Corriere della Sera” printed in Milan also in its special article on Thursday pointed to the works submitted from Iran, adding that the value of the works is revealed with the passage of time.
Several other masterpieces from museums of New York, Paris, London and Zurich are also on display. Italian president, mayor of Rome, director of TMCA as well as several cultural officials attended the opening ceremony.
The exhibit which opened Friday in the Cultural Complex of Italian Presidential Palace will continue until January 6, 2004.
