TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) - Kazakhstan may expand oil export volume through Iranian territory via the so-called SWABS equivalent circuit. This was one of the important issues discussed at the meeting of Transport Ministers of the two countries Kazhmurat Nagmanov and Akhmad Khoram in Tehran, Kazinform reported with reference to the web-journal Russia’s Oil.

Kazakhstani oil will be transferred to the Iranian port Neka on the Caspian Sea and Iran will ship the same volume of oil to the foreign trade partners of Kazakhstan. This scheme is working long, but due to some technical problems it was difficult to maintain huge deliveries. Now Tehran has offered Kazakhstan to export up to 120,000 oil barrels per day via its territory. As the Iranian Minister Akhmad Khoram told the reporters, “The Caspian port Neka is being enlarged, and from there raw oil, including oil from Kazakhstan, will be carried to Teheran Oil refinery.”
