ROME (Reuters) -- AS Roma striker Francesco Totti will miss Italy's friendly against Poland on Wednesday, after aggravating a back injury during the Rome derby, the Italian Football Federation announced on Monday.

Totti played the whole of Sunday's 2-0 win over Lazio, but needed to stay in Rome for treatment, said the statement, adding there were no plans to substitute the player for the game in Warsaw.

The Roma captain is expected to be fit for the second of Italy's friendlies against Romania in Ancona on Sunday.
