TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) –- The time when late Mirza Ahmad held his old plain camera and recorded pictures of men in the city he would not imagine his photos would remain as precious memories of the good old days in the world of digital cameras after a century.

But the pictures especially those taken for the first time in the history of the city have remained as precious antiques after the passage of so many years.

Mozaffar Nazarizadeh, Younes Farzaneh, Mashhadi Belal and Ganjeie were among the leading photographers who were busy in Ardebil taking photos from historical monuments and important figures of the city which now lie in old family albums.

An old photographer Qesmat Eyvazi who has been taking photos in Ardebil since 1953 is convinced that the skill and art of photography is gradually fading away with the advent of digital cameras and computer printing.

In the book “Ardebil through the Passage of History” written by Babasafari, we read that among the talented photographers of Ardebil, late Mirza Ahmad Saeidi was the most famous one who lived almost 80 years and was highly interested in his job. He was a gifted artist and the majority of old photographs kept in Ardebil houses were taken by him.

The 70-year old photographer Hamid Rahbari also talks about his high interest in photography, keeping memories of the past and the good old days, and the pleasure of representing the beauties of his country, Iran. His most beautiful photo, named “Cup of Zoroaster,” is taken from Sabalan Mountain located to the west of Ardebil.
