KUWAIT CITY (MENAFN) -- At the conclusion of a 3-day visit by Iraq's oil minister with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Kuwait agreed in principle to provide Iraq with oil products - including Kerosene, petrol, and gasoline - required to meet winter shortages - estimated at around 40 percent - as well as allow Iraq to use Kuwaiti terminals to export oil.

Kuwait also gave a provisional nod to buy natural gas from Iraq in return for billions of dollars of debt and agreed to assist the war-ravaged country in rebuilding its oil sector - expected to require around $50 billion of investment over the coming decade - and by providing technical training to Iraqis in the oil sector.

The two ministers agreed to form a high-level cooperation committee and a number of sub-committees to coordinate and follow up on areas of cooperation.
