TEHRAN – “The Monday conference of the so-called 5+1 Group in London will add to the pressure against Iran concerning its nuclear program,” Hamid-Reza Hajbabaii, a member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said here on Tuesday.

Hajbabaii noted that the main objective of the five nuclear powers -- Russia, China, the U.S., Britain and France – plus Germany is to increase Western and U.S. pressure on Iran in an attempt to achieve their goals regarding the Iranian nuclear issue.

Also a member of the Majlis Presiding Board, Hajbabaii said that members of the 5+1 Group believe that Iran should continue its nuclear negotiations with the European Union trio (Britain, Germany and France).

The Westerners should have realized by now that exerting pressure on Iran will not be to their benefit because the Islamic Republic will never renounce its inalienable nuclear rights and there is also no law that can deprive Iran from this right, he observed.

Hajbabaii advised the European countries to change their attitude toward Iran since all their measures against the country were doomed to failure.

He also commented that China and Russia will resist against Europe and the U.S. in order to defend their national policies, saying that this has actually enraged the West.
