TEHRAN – Reconstruction and renovation of oil platforms in the Indian Ocean is to be completed by June 2006, installation project manager of Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) Bahari told the Persian service of ISNA on Friday.
“The RSPPM Project progress is satisfactory and will be completed before monsoon seasonal winds and rains. However, due to fire and other problems that the employer was dealing with, completion of one of the platforms will be postponed until next year,” he stated.
“IOEC is also in charge of Paradip Project and after installing the floating terminal, tankers up to 120,000 tons of capacity namely FBM, may dock here,” he said, adding that pipe-laying part of the project, 20KM at 48 inches, will allow the India Refinery to receive oil imports coming from the east via this terminal.
The cost of the project has been announced as $33m and it is expected to come on stream in 45 days.
