Iran’s cement production to hit 36m tons

TEHRAN – Cement production in Iran will total 36 million tons in the current Iranian year (ends March 20, 2007).

Some 2.5 million tons was added to the country’s cement production capacity last year as two new cement plants came on stream in Yazd and Kashan. Further increase is also expected as a new unit is added to the Fars-Khuzestan Cement Plant.

Hamedan exports up 115%

HAMEDAN – Exports from this western province moved up 115% in weight in the last Iranian year (ended March 20).

During the said period, Hamedan exported some 68,120 tons of goods at $38.65 million. The exported volume was mainly consisted of agricultural products, Persian carpets, cement, salambore, and PVC, and was exported to Afghanistan, Germany, France, Sweden, Italy, Ukraine, Canada, Russia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Romania.

ISC’s yearly output to hit 3m tons

ISFAHAN – The annual production capacity at the Isfahan Steel Complex (ISC), also known as Zob Ahan, is estimated to reach 3 million tons this year.

Zob Ahan produced more than 2.57 million tons of steel products in the last Iranian year of which some 330,000 tons was exported.

Yazd annual handicraft exports reach 400,000 dollars

YAZD – In the last Iranian year (ended March 20), some 19 tons of handicrafts was exported from this central province at 400,000 dollars.

This showed 8 percent slump compared to the previous figures. Yazdi handicrafts, including termeh, Persian carpets, and pottery, are exported to the UK, USA, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Ireland, and New Zealand.

Karkheh Power Plant generated 1.14m MW in a year

AHVAZ, Khuzestan – The annual output in the Karkheh Power Plant totaled 1,137,053 megawatts in the last Iranian year.

The three units of this power plant, which is built near Karkheh Dam, generated 334,503 MW, 387,412 MW, and 415,138 MW, respectively. The annual power generation at the Karkheh Power Plant is estimated to hit 934 gigawatts.
