TEHRAN -- MP Hassan Sobhani said on Tuesday that he would run for the post of Majlis speaker independently.

Sobhani of the Majlis Budget Committee criticized the general performance of the parliament and told reporters that it lacks planning for dealing with the problems of the country.

The combination of the Majlis Presiding Board will change after the vote on Wednesday, Sobhani, a trained economist, added.
