MP denounces aggressive nature of Zionist regime
Majlis' Cultural Commission member Mohammad-Reza Mir-Tajeddini's remarks were part of a speech he delivered in parliament assessing latest developments in Palestine and Lebanon. Pointing to the goals of the Zionist regime in its current offensive in Lebanon, he said "the Zionist regime and the United States have plans for the Middle East region." "The first goal of the Zionist regime is to disarm the Lebanese Hezbollah so that it can longer pose as a threat to the realization of its goals."
He said that the capture by Hezbollah of two Israeli soldiers was a mere pretext for the current Zionist offensive because the Zionist regime and United States had been implementing their plan of disarming Hezbollah since one year ago by imposing pressure on Syria.
"The current move is aimed at disarming the Lebanese Hezbollah and removing it from the country's political scene. "If their aim is not materialized, removing Hezbollah as a political force will be put on the agenda." The MP said the U.S. and the Zionist regime were caught by surprise by the resistance showed by Hezbollah." Speaking of the consequences of Hezbollah's resistance for the Islamic world, he said the first result will be the "Zionist regime's exposure as a weak regime, protected in a glass house." The MP stressed that the resistance is a victory for Hezbollah and a failure for the Zionists as "the Zionist regime's massive destruction of the economic infrastructure of Lebanon has resulted in increasing the morale of the Lebanese nation."
He said that the Zionist regime, with its goal of removing the Hezbollah, hopes to achieve its goals in the region.
Mi-Tajeddini deplored the silence of Islamic governments in the face of Zionist crimes, saying "Hezbollah and the Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) are the main obstacles to realization of the Zionist regime's goals in the region.
He cautioned other countries in the region from taking on a false sense of security, saying the Zionist regime has no mercy on any state.
He said victory for Hezbollah will mean victory for all Muslim countries, and called on all Islamic governments to provide help to Hezbollah.
"Muslim youth should be vigilant and ready to defend their brothers in Palestine and Lebanon. They should set up Islamic resistance centers independent of their governments if these governments chose to be silent.
"They should help the sons of Islam in Palestine and Lebanon through whatever means and not leave them alone in their struggle." the MP said.
