Technical reasons postpone Larijani-Solana talks: Majlis speaker

Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel here on Wednesday said that the meeting between Larijani and the EU foreign policy chief had been postponed due to technical reasons.

He made the remark at a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart, Mahmoud al-Mashadani who wound up his visit to Tehran on Wednesday.

Haddad-Adel said that lack of interest of the two negotiators is not the cause of the delay in talks, adding that rather some technical reasons postponed the trip for one day.

"Political issues had no role in the delay. In a phone conversation on Wednesday, Larijani and Solana underlined the need to continue talks on Iran's nuclear issue," he added.
