TEHRAN -- Despite the 461 points drop in the general index for introduction of 70 new companies on the board during the previous week, Saturday the general index advanced 26.49 points.

Following the return of industrial companies such as Chadormaloo, Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company (ITMC), Behshahr Industrial Group Investment Company, the general index climbed 26.49 points to 9,095.

The Main Board Index (MBI) gained 36.55 points to 8,840. The industry index also rose 2.36 points and the cash output and price indices added 112 points, while the Secondary Board Index (SBI) plunged 8 points to 9,286.

More than 40,945,536 shares valued at $14506535.94 were traded at the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) close on Saturday. Bahman 22 Chipboard Factory enjoyed the highest rate of increase as much as 24.14%. Bakhtar Cable Co. rose 12.7%, Chadormaloo climbed 78.11%, and the ITMC gained 11.42% for the day.

Sina Tile Company lost 57.30%, the highest loss in the market for the day, Tuka Transportation jumped 19.84%, Italran and Loghman Pharmaceuticals gained 26.13% and 69.9% respectively.

Kalsimin Company, Arak Petrochemicals, and Golgohar Ironstone Complex had the highest number of bidders respectively and the highest demand was registered for Ghadir Investment, Melli Bank Investment, and Bahman investment in that order. AA/MA END MNA
