U.S. author Fletcher’s “Alphabet of Dreams” translated into Persian ABC’s
TEHRAN, Dec. 19 (MNA) – The Persian translation of American author Susan Fletcher’s “Alphabet of Dreams” set in Iran was published in the country.
The 516-page book, intended for juniors, has been translated by Hossein Ebrahimi and come out by the Ofoq Publications in 2,200 copies.
“Alphabet of Dreams” tells the story of Mitra and her younger brother, Babak, who are living in a labyrinth of caves in ancient Persia, scraping by with the food they can steal in the nearby marketplace.
Disguised as a boy for safety and mobility, Mitra dreams of returning to her former life of opulence she led before her father's plot against a despotic king scattered the family.
Fletcher picked up the idea of the book from Iranian author Abbas Milani's “Tales of Two Cities”.
