TEHRAN – Esteqlal came from one goal behind to celebrate a home 2-1 win over Malavan in the 21st week game of the sixth Iran Pro League (IPL) here Sunday.

Esteqlal fullback Piruz Qorbani compensated for his own goal in the 46th minute, heading home a Siavash Akbarpur corner on 74 minutes.

Akbarpur scored a last-gasp goal, unleashing a 30-yard free-kick into left corner of the visiting side’s net one minute from normal time.

The dramatic victory soared the second-placed Blues’ points to 42, three shy of asset of pacesetter SAIPA, which was held by Abu Moslem to a 1-1 draw in a 22nd week match earlier in the day.
