TEHRAN -- Iranian comedian Javad Razavian is making a series “Residential Quarters” to be aired on state TV during the new Iranian year holidays, Noruz, as of March 21.

Commissioned by Channel 1 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), “Residential Quarters” stars Razavian, Mehran Ghafurian, Shahram Qaedi, Yusef Sayyadi, Ali Salehi, Arash Nozari, Ali Sadeqi, Mehran Rajabi, Shohreh Lorestani, and Mahsa Keramati.

The series tells the story of some soldiers trying to take a leave for Noruz but just one of them is given the permission.

Screenwriter Alireza Masudi, producer, Mohammadreza Takhtkeshian, assistant director Majid Razavian, editor Siamak Mehmandust, cinematographer Hossein Maleki, sound recorder Maziar Sheikh-Mahbubi, stage and costume designer Mansureh Qazi, and makeup artist Danesh Karimi are some of the crew.

Razavian is a popular comedian, but his directorial debut “My Inheritance” was not highly welcome last year.
