Iran’s SP phases 17-18 to become operational on Oct. 2011

TEHRAN – Iran’s South Pars (SP) phases 17-18 will come on stream on Oct. 2011, said an Oil Industries Engineering and Construction (OIEC) official on Tuesday.

Talking to Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA), Mehdi Banazadeh, who is in charge of coordinating onshore engineering operations of the phases, added that the executive operations of the project will start within next two months.

The British company Worley Parsons is working on the basic design of the phases’ onshore parts under the supervision of the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) and the Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), he said.

He pointed to the phases 9-10 as one of the SP largest projects, adding that within the next four years the phases 17-18 will creat great job opportunities.

After putting the phases into operation, the project will create more than 16 thousand job opportunities, Banazadeh added.
