Stamp to feature Farshchian’s “Shams and Rumi”

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Stamp Association is to publish a stamp featuring Mahmud Farshchian’s latest miniature work “Shams and Rumi” to commemorate the 800th birth anniversary of Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi (1207-1273).

The stamp will be available bearing the UNESCO hallmark.
------Iranian pop star and S. Korean artists to perform a cappella concert
TEHRAN -- An a cappella concert is to be performed by South Korean artists at the Andisheh Hall. Iranian pop singer Ehsan Khaje-Amiri will be accompanying them during the performance.
The Korean group consists of six soloists. They will be performing vocal music accompanied by percussion instruments. They plan to hold two concerts to raise funds for Iranian children affected by cardiac problems.
-----Cinéma Vérité Festival to honor Syrian filmmaker
TEHRAN -- The Cinéma Vérité Festival, an Iranian film gala highlighting international documentary films, is to screen five movies by Syrian filmmaker Omar Amiralay. The festival is to be held from October 15 until 19 in Tehran.
Omar Amiralay (born 1944) is a Syrian documentary film director and prominent social activist. He is noted for the politically critical nature of his films, many of which have been screened at Cannes Film Festivals.
------------English version of Iranian Rumi website launched
TEHRAN -- An English language version of the Iranian Rumi website launched its work on September 30 marking Rumi’s 800th birth anniversary.
News, articles, films and a bibliography of Rumi have been put on the website by the Molana News Agency which launched its work on August 29. The website is now available at www.maulananews.com.
