FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Volkswagen AG luxury car unit Audi's chief executive Rupert Stadler said the company aims to increase annual unit sales to 1.5m cars by 2015, according to an interview in Auto Zeitung.

Audi may “slightly exceed” this year's target of 950,000 vehicles and aims to sell 1m cars for the first time next year, Stadler reiterated.
“We are well on track, which also applies to our profitability targets,” he said, adding he is confident the company will reach its return on sales target of 8 pct by 2010, as planned.
Stadler also said, the company aims to increase unit sales in the U.S. and in China to 200,000 cars a year each.
“Until 2015, we want to grow toward 200,000 cars in the U.S., and more in the long term, of course,” he said, but cautioned that the U.S. business is “extremely under pressure” due to the U.S. dollar's weakness against the euro.
