Bin Alawi: Iran, Oman enjoy special ties

DUBAI (IRNA) -- Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman have particular relations.
Omani daily Al-Shabiba quoted bin Alawi as saying that the two countries have increased mutual commercial exchanges by implementing some joint venture projects.The Omani minister added that given the close bonds between Iran and Oman, the two sides are interested in expanding and consolidating cooperation in various fields.
Pointing to the important role of the private sector in increasing investments and commercial exchanges between the two nations, he underlined that the development of bilateral ties will definitely benefit all regional states.
After the visit by President Mahmud Ahmadinejad to Oman in May, Iran, and Oman inked a number of agreements on oil and gas cooperation.
Executive committees of the two nations held different meetings to follow up implementation of the agreements.
