Foreign short films to compete at Fajr festival

TEHRAN -- Seventeen short films from foreign countries are to compete at the 26th Fajr International Film Festival which will be held in Tehran from February 1 until 11.

Films from Germany, the Netherlands, Britain and Norway will be screened during the festival.
Daniel Seideneder’s “Truck Stop Grill”, “The Sickie” by Rupert Jones, Kristof Kannegiesser’s and Jan Zabeil’s “L.H.O.”, Gaute Hesthagen’s “Nostalgia”, and “Can You Hear Me?” by Deva Palmier are amongst the participating movies.
------“Three Women” to be screened at Berlin festival
TEHRAN -- Manijeh Hekmat’s “Three Woman” is to compete in the Berlin International Film Festival’s Panorama Section which will be held from February 7 to 17.
“Three Women”, portrays the social status of three generations of women in Iranian society. “Women’s Prison” (2002), another film with the central theme of women, presents Hekmat’s extensive fieldwork amongst women prisoners in Iran.
------Iran to donate book to England’s universities
TEHRAN -- Iran’s cultural attaché’s office in London has donated books to university libraries in England.
The books are on the themes of Iran, philosophy and mysticism, Persian language and literature, Islam and the interpretation of the Holy Quran and they are include works both in English and Persian.
------Iranian films on display at Dhaka festival
TEHRAN –- Ten Iranian films to be screened at Dhaka International Film Festival which is currently underway at the capital of Bangladesh and will continue until January 18.
Naqi Nemati’s “Those Three”, Rasul Mollaqolipur’s “M for Mother”, Babak Shirinsefat’s “Raami”, Mani Haqiqi’s “Men at Work” and “God Is Close” by Ali Vazirian are amongst the films..
