TEHRAN –- Rasul Sadr-Ameli has donated his collection of awards, photos, posters, film accessories and some of his screenplays to the Film Museum of Iran, he told ISNA on Monday.

Sadr-Ameli went on to say that his awards belong to the Iranian people and he expressed his desire for them to be kept besides the glories of other filmmakers in the museum.
The donated awards comprise seven plaques of honor, four honorary diplomas, one statuette and two Golden Butterflies presented to him at Iran’s International Film Festival of Children and Young Adults.
“The hoarding of these awards in an artist’s workroom or home may be pleasurable for one or two years but after a time they lose their attraction and they just serve to distract the artist from his aim -- therefore the museum is the best place for their preservation,” Sadr-Ameli said.
“A Museum is the most appropriate place for keeping artistic and cinematic tributes and Iranian artists should develop the Film Museum of Iran’s scope by donating their awards to it,” he added.
Iranian directors Rakhshan Bani-Etemad and Yadollah Samadi also donated a collection of their awards, screenplays, books and film accessories to the Film Museum of Iran over the past two months.
“I Am Taraneh, I Am Fifteen Years Old”, “The Girl in Sneakers”, “Chrysanthemum” and “I Saw Your Daddy Last Night, Aida” are amongst Sadr-Ameli’s credits.
