TEHRAN -- The book “Early Persian Translations of Quran” by Mohammad Emadi Haeri will be unveiled during a ceremony at Miras-e Maktub Research Center on May 28.

The author reviews six Persian versions of Quran from 10th to 12th century and uses the surah of Yusuf as a basis for his comparative textual study and analysis.
The book also discusses the first translation of the Holy Quran into Persian.
According to certain traditional sayings, the Iranian companion of Prophet Muhammad(S), Salman Farsi, was the first who translated parts of Quran into Persian in the 7th century.
Regardless of their authenticity, these sayings indicate Iranians’ interests in Quranic issues since the dawn of Islam.
For the first time, Quran was completely translated to Persian by Samanid ruler Mansur Ibn Nuh known as Amir al-Sadid (961–76) in the 10th country.
This version of Quran set the standard for the other translations during the next two centuries.
Scholars Azartash Azarnush, Abolqasem Emami and Ali Ravaqi are scheduled to deliver speeches during the ceremony.
