Iran, Gambia set up maritime relations
TEHRAN – The first session of Iran-Gambia joint committee for expansion of port and maritime relations was held here on Monday.Gholamreza Sasani, director of transit and tariffs affairs at the Ports and Maritime Organization and Bakary Houma deputy Gambian minister of labor co-chaired the session, IRNA reported.
During the three-day event, the two sides are to discuss different related issues particularly adopting coordinated policies in international maritime forums.
---------- Iran implements $110m worth of technical projects in Uzbekistan
TEHRAN – Some 110 million dollars worth of projects in technical and service provision sectors is underway by Iranian companies in Uzbekistan, Iran’s commercial attaché in Uzbekistan stated.
“Over 100 Iranian companies are active in Uzbekistan,” Mohammad Beheshtian said, adding, the annual trade between the two countries amounts to 650 million dollars, IRNA reported.
---------- Iran Khodro unveils Xantia 2
TEHRAN – Iran Khodro Company, the leading Iranian car manufacturer unveiled ‘face lifted’ Xantia sedan dubbed “Xantia 2” here on Monday.
Some parts of the sedan such as the bumpers, mudguards, front fog lights and indicators have been changed in shape, IRIB reported.
Iran Khodro plans to export 80,000 Samand, Peugeot 206, Soren, Peugeot 405, and Roa sedans by March 2009.
The Middle East, North Africa, and the central Asian countries are the major destinations of Iran Khodro products.
--------- KFIRC to hold oilseeds processing workshop
MASHAD – Khorasan Food Industries Research Center has planned to hold a 9-day educational workshop starting from June 26 for 20 employees of Afghanistan’s ministry of Farming and Irrigation and affiliated universities.
Visiting the oilseeds plants farms and vegetable oil factories in Neishabour, Fariman, and Kashmar cities constitute part of the program.
