TEHRAN -- Iran football team is to play Bahrain in the 2008 AFC Under 16 Championship to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on October 4.

Iran has been drawn with hosts Uzbekistan, Singapore and Bahrain in Group A. Iran is slated to play Uzbekistan on October 6 and will play Singapore two days later.
A total of 16 teams will compete in four groups in a round robin format. The top two teams will qualify for the quarterfinal stage from each group
