Iranian discus thrower wins gold at Paralympics

BEIJING -- Iranian discus thrower Javad Hardani won the gold medal on Sunday at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.
Hardani threw the discus 42.62 meters in class F 38 at the Bird's nest and won the gold medal. The 24 year-old athlete has also shattered the Paralympic record.Mykola Zhabnyak from Ukraine came second with 52 meters in class F 37.
Chinese Dong Xia has claimed the bronze medal with a throw of 51.65 in class F 37.
Powerlifter Hamzeh Mohammadi had already won the gold medal in the competitions
