Ahmadinejad will not attend PGCC conference

TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said on Monday that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will not attend the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) annual summit.
The 29th summit of the PGCC started yesterday and will continue today in Muscat, Oman's capital.Addressing his weekly press conference, Qashqavi expressed hope that the council would adopt policies to strengthen cooperation between Iran and its member states.
He said Iran hopes that Ahmadinejad’s proposals at Doha summit will be discussed.
On December 3, 2007, President Ahmadinejad attended the 28th PGCC summit in Doha in which he submitted 12 proposals meant to “reinforce brotherly ties” and “promote cooperation” among Persian Gulf littoral states and Iran
