TEHRAN – The fourth OPEC International Seminar will kick off on Wednesday, March 18 and will run to March 19, in Vienna at the Hofburg Castle.

According to PIN, Algerian Energy and Industry Minister Chakib Khalil and Angolan Oil Minister Jose Botelho Vasconcelos, will respectively chair and co-chair the seminar.
The oil ministers of Iran, Iraq, Ecuador, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Venezuela as well as other related officials will deliver presentations at the event.
In his welcome message for the event, Secretary General of OPEC Abdalla Salem El-Badri said that “as you are aware, economic and financial events over the last 18 months - from the global financial crisis to the volatility seen in the international oil markets - have indicated the need for enhanced dialogue on the long-term prospects of the petroleum industry and how it can continue to support the world economy.”
“Working to find ways to ensure the stabilization of global oil markets has always been one of OPEC’s principal aims. At this year’s international seminar, guest speakers and participants, all accomplished persons in their respective fields, will discuss the role petroleum will play in the development of emerging economies, as well as the realization of the Millennium Development Goals in an increasingly carbon-constrained world,” he added.
OPEC reduced its oil output by 4.2 million barrels per day to 24.84 million barrels per day.
