No guarantee for tomorrow’s sunrise

Two days to the end of my life, I understood that I didn’t enjoy life at all! Seconds, days, and months passed; the days on my calendar were all marked. No place was found unmarked there save two days at the end.
Having spent my whole life in vain, I got upset, distraught, and flustered. Then, I went to God and asked for extra days. I cried. But God kept silent, forcing me to continue screaming.
Again He was silent. At that time, there was a great roar of anguish on hearing no word from God.
I shouted and yelled out, but no words fell from His lips!
After that, I moved heaven and earth to reach my goal. He was yet to respond to my question!
At that time, I begged and pleaded with human and angel; He kept silent once again!
Afterwards, I denied Him and threw the prayer beads into the air; He was quiet again!
I was overcome with grief and sorrow; I broke down, wept, and prostrated myself.
Then He broke His silence and said: Oh my dear, you have wasted another day of your life! You have spent all day long shouting and yelling. And now you have just one day until the end of your life. Come on! And for the first time in your life, enjoy the last day of your life.
Sobbing, I answered: “But I have just one day! What can I do in a day!? There is no way to return, nay!”
God said: “For one who experienced the joy of life for just one day in his life, it seemed as if he had lived for a hundred years.”
“One who doesn’t understand the value of the present time will not understand the worth of one hundred years of time!”
Giving me my share of one day of life, God said: “Then go and enjoy the rest of your life.”
I was totally confused. Looking at life in the palm of my hand, I was afraid of taking steps and walking. I was frightened of it running out of my hands.
I stopped for a while and reflected. If there is no tomorrow, it’s no use trying to save my life!
It’s much better to experience it now, in the right way.
Then I ran laughing, and scattered it over my face and drank life in. I felt pleased, happy, and powerful to be able to go to the end of the world; to be able to fly, to reach the sun…!
On that day, free of any concerns and mundane matters, I caressed trunks and leaves of trees and flowers. I lay down on the grass and enjoyed the feel of it beneath my feet; watched a ladybird with interest, raised my head and stared at the sky and gazed at clouds.
I also said hello to those unfamiliar to me, and deep in my heart, I prayed for those I had never loved.
I enjoyed life. Falling in love with my Dearest Beloved, I found it easy to forgive and forget. I was full of pleasure, delight, and satisfaction with a light heart. It was a great chance and definitely worth all the efforts.
The day finished. Tomorrow, angels wrote down in God’s calendar: “The one who lived one hundred years, died today”!
Our life, therefore, has width and depth in addition to length. All of us mainly pay attention to its length. More thought and care should be given to life’s width. How we spend our lives should be of greater importance to us.
Time is limited and life is an opportunity. So let’s not fill life’s basket with pain, grief, fear, vanity, and jealousy.
Let’s try to get rid of negative thinking, pessimism, animosity, complaints, and hostility.
Let’s be full of love and kindness. Let’s think positively and be the source of justice, righteousness, forgiveness, and honesty. Let’s be people of deep humanity.
Let’s assess ourselves before it becomes too late.
Our viewpoints on life and the world will make it colorful in a word.
If we are kind to others and not gloomy about the future, success will knock on our doors. Hope is the key to success.
Let’s not lose today; there is no guarantee for tomorrow’s sunrise, hey!
