Iranian poster nominated for Canadian prize
TEHRAN -- A poster designed by Iranian artists Nima Farzaneh and Azarnush Nazari is among the nominees for the poster competition of the 33rd Montreal World Film Festival.A total of 160 entries were received by the gala from which six posters of different styles were selected for the short list, which is currently on display at the festival.

Iranian cartoonists awarded at Syrian contest
TEHRAN -- Iranian artists were awarded at the 5th International Cartoon Contest (SYRIA 2009) during a ceremony on Tuesday.
Soheil Mohammadi won the special prize of the event and the bronze prize went to Jamal Rahmati.
Works created by Iranian artists Ramin Rezaii, Ali Tajdud, Nazanin Tabatabaii-Mohammadi, Morad-Ali Mohammadi, Mohammad-Saleh Razm-Hosseini, Hossein Rahimkhani and Hadi Al-e Yusefi were also honored during the ceremony.
Kahani’s “Twenty” to compete in Czech festival
TEHRAN -- Abdorreza Kahani’s psychological drama “Twenty” will go on screen at the 44th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
The festival, to be held from July 3 to 11, is the most important international film festival in Central and Eastern Europe, which presents annually for the first time in the Czech Republic more than 200 new films from around the world.
“Twenty” focuses on a once popular reception hall now reduced to catering to the funeral business..
