Flamengo have opened the door for Ronaldinho to follow the trend of struggling Brazil internationals returning home.

The 29-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City, was the most wanted star on the planet not so long ago after claiming back-to-back FIFA World Player of the Year titles in 2004 and 2005.
But he has struggled to impress at AC Milan after a £20million move from Barcelona last summer and Flamengo have been alerted by criticisms of Ronaldinho from San Siro supremo Silvio Berlusconi.
Ronaldo, 32, is enjoying an Indian summer after signing for Corinthians in December and fellow wayward striker Adriano, 27, last week signed for Flamengo after being sacked by Inter Milan for going AWOL.
Fred, 25, shunned interest from Tottenham in January and later left Lyon for Fluminense.
