MASHHAD -- Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi announced on Saturday that Iran will boycott the Umrah visit to Saudi Arabia, if Saudi Wahabists do not stop insulting Iranians pilgrims.

Misbehavior toward pilgrims shows that Saudi officials are not qualified to take care of the holy shrines in the country, he said.
Also on Friday, Makarem Shirazi condemned disrespect toward Iranian pilgrims by Saudi Wahabists and called for an immediate end to such insulting behaviors.
“Saudi Wahabis’ disrespect toward Umrah pilgrims shows that they are not qualified to keep the custody of the Two Holy Mosques,” the ayatollah told a number of pilgrims at Imam Reza (AS) shrine in Mashhad.
