ARMAN in an article on brain drain in Iran writes that even though lawmakers, university professors and experts express deep disappointment over the migration of talented persons and the parliament has formed a committee to study the issue, the minister of science has called it a media exaggeration which is far from reality. All local experts and lawmakers admit that Iran ranks first in brain drain. What’s the reason behind this problem?
EBTEKAR in its editorial says the Supreme Leader is visiting the shrine city of Qom after 10 years. During this period, new developments have taken place in society and seminaries. In his different meetings in Qom, the Leader put emphasis on applying modern technology by seminary students in today’s world. According to the daily, although the current generation has access to internet and sophisticated technology it is deprived of the experiences of the previous generation. The writer says clerics have great responsibility to answer many questions raised by the new generation.
KAYHAN also in a commentary discusses the trip of the Leader of Islamic Revolution to Qom and its importance at this juncture. After the victory of Islamic Revolution in 1979 almost 130 intelligence services, affiliated to the West and some other regional countries, have been active to deny the leading role of Qom and its significance in the world of Islam. The activities of these intelligence services are to promote a non-political and secular Islamic mentality similar to some Islamic organizations in Indonesia and Turkey. The CIA publishes millions of copies of books for these organizations in various languages including Arabic, English and French and distributes them among Muslims. Kayhan writes over the last two years, these organizations have established centers in Qom to propagate secularism and sow the seeds of discord among government and seminaries.
