TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s special representative for Iraq in Tehran on Sunday.

During the meeting, Salehi said, “We are ready to have any form of cooperation with (relevant organizations) to help develop Iraq. And we, with the help of the UN and other relevant specialized and international institutions, must create a situation so that Iraq could gain back its status in the international arena.”
The UN special representative stated, “The settlement of certain environmental problems (in Iraq) necessitates that the specialized international organizations and the World Bank allocate budget (to this country) and establish a mechanism so that the Iranian and Iraqi experts, given the two countries’ friendly relations, would be able to resolve these problems.
