TEHRAN -- Top Iranian legislator Alaeddin Boroujerdi has said that the Zionist regime is plotting to prevent a reestablishment of relations between Iran and Egypt.

The Zionist regime has hatched several plots to disrupt the process of reestablishing ties between Tehran and Cairo, but such intrigues will not succeed due to the awareness of the officials of the two countries, Boroujerdi told the Fars News Agency on Monday.
Restoration of ties between Iran and Egypt will benefit the Islamic ummah, said Boroujerdi, who is the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee chairman.
“(However), I believe that hasty measures should not be taken with regard to the reestablishment of ties between Iran and Egypt,” he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Boroujerdi commented on the fact that certain Western media outlets are making attempts to turn the religious minorities in Egypt against Muslims through propagating the idea that Muslims must be blamed for what happened in the country.
The Egyptian people, particularly the youth, should remain vigilant about such plots, he emphasized
