Persepolis women’s volleyball team loses to Japanese

Iranian representative Persepolis lost to Kenshokai Red Hearts from Japan in the 2011 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship on Sunday.

The competition gets underway in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam from June 19 to 25. Persepolis has been drawn in Pool A along with teams from Vietnam, the Philippines and Japan.
The Iranian outfit is scheduled to meet Shakeys Vleague from the Philippines on Monday.
“We want to finish at second place in our pool. Japan is our most strong rival in the competition. Vietnam is also a powerful team since they are hosts. Iranian women volleyball players have grown up during the past years and we hope to get more experience in these competitions,” Persepolis coach Mitra Shabanian had said before the match.
Pool B consists of teams from Thailand, Kazakhstan, Indonesia and China
